This book gave me ALL OF THE FEELS. You can’t read this anthology and not smile at the end of each one. It’s meant to make you feel happy and lovely and mushy. I mean, the title alone should give this away…duh. All of the stories weren’t bullseye, on-the-mark perfect but they all were sweet in their own way. Well, not ALL… but the majority. I’ll give a quick review of each story. So here it goes….

Midnights by Rainbow Rowell:
Rainbow Rowell can do no wrong, in my humble opinion. Her wit and humor come through in this story about two friends who are prolonging the inevitable. I’ll leave it at that.

The Lady and The Fox by Kelly Link:
This was my first story by Kelly Link. I haven’t decided if it will be my last or not. I loved the story, which was whimsical and felt old timey but was actually set in present day. Her writing was a little jumpy to me but her magic was delightful. Okay, so maybe I just talked myself in to trying something else of hers.

Angels in the Snow by Matt De La Pena:
I’m undecided about this story. This one reminded me of a Lifetime made for TV movie. I liked the very end though, the last sentence made me tear up.

Polaris is Where You’ll Find Me by Jenny Han:
This “Elf” style story {girl raised by Santa and is surrounded by elves} was pretty cute. It tugs at the heart strings, that’s for sure. Also, who knew that elves could be bitchy? Not me, that’s for sure. Anyway, I liked this one.

It’s a Yuletide Miracle, Charlie Brown by Stephanie Perkins:
O.M.G. That’s all I can say. I love Stephanie Perkins. I love everything she writes. I’m going to sign the petition to have this story turned into a full book. I NEED MORE MARIGOLD MOON!!! *sigh* So good and all of the feels.

Your Temporary Santa by David Levithan:
While I like David Levithan, this story made me feel really bad. I know it was supposed to be an upper but it felt like a downer instead. The last few lines were great but it made me feel so sad. Not every love story is easy and glitter and heart bubbles…

Krampuslauf by Holly Black:
My friends Shandra and Athena LOVE Krampus and have recently been talking about him. So I found it funny that this story should pop up in the mix. I loved this one. Holly Black has a sharp and clever prose and I cannot wait to read more of her stuff. I also will be reading more about Krampus. Colored me interested.

What the Hell Have You Done, Sophie Roth? by Gayle Forman:
Forman gives us a really cute and unexpected story. I loved the diversity and I loved the outcome. Forman is good at banter and this story is no exception.

Beer Buckets and Baby Jesus by Myra McEntire:
Y’all, I laughed throughout this entire story. It’s SO hilarious. The title alone should fill you in on that little nugget of information. This is the ultimate story of second chances and how the so-called-bad guy may not always be so bad.

Welcome to Christmas, CA by Kiersten White:
I loved this story. It made me full on cry in the end. Lots of magic and lots of love that comes in different packages.

Star of Bethlehem by Ally Carter:
This was a stupid story. That’s all I have to say. I loved the little old Aunt, she was the only character with depth. But that’s where the love stops. Just… no. It was like a bad Disney movie.

The Girl Who Woke the Dreamer by Laini Taylor:
I had SUCH. HIGH. HOPES. Which explains the long fall down the disappointment tunnel. I didn’t like this one at all. It felt wrong and contrived. Too bad, because I love Laini Taylor. Oh Well.

All in all: These stories will be revisited every Christmas by me.

Happy Reading, friends!
